Dalmeny to Craigie walk

Lisa from the Strollers group took us on a walk from Dalmeny to Craigie Farm and back. Dalmeny is a small village not far away from South Queensferry. One of its attractions is the church dating from 12th century. Most people would visit the Dalmeny estate, a beautiful mansion located on the Firth of the Forth.

This time, however, we went through the woods, passing an abandoned farm, up the Craigie Hill to the farm. The farm features a big deli shop and also allows you to come and pick your own fruit. I had a taste of their cherries and they were magnificent. For this reason, it was mobbed with kids and their parents. You also have a chance to see some farm animals and take a short ride on a helicopter. The cafe is also magnificent.

Because I love the Forth bridges, I took a short detour to South Queensferry for a short walk down the beach to take photos of them.

The whole walk was about 5 miles and it was a nice afternoon despite the heavy clouds.
